Bring you baby, meet other moms, re-connect with your body, and learn about postpartum and pelvic floor health! 

Young Moms Staying Fit

Classes cover: 

  • Screening of pelvic floor related concerns

  • Functional and physical assessment of diastasis recti abdominis

  • Guided group exercise sessions including functional training of pelvic floor and core muscular system

  • Education and resources regarding broad postpartum health considerations including nervous system regulation, sleep strategies (for parents), habit building, and more

  • Home based exercises and strategies

Who it's for:

  • This class is designed primarily for recently postpartum individuals (6 weeks to 1 year) but those at later stages postpartum are welcome to join

  • Exercises can be modified for individual needs

  • Classes are appropriate for those who delivered via vaginal birth or cesarean birth

  • Participants should be 6+ weeks postpartum and should be cleared by their doctor/midwife to resume normal physical activity prior to beginning classes.

  1. These classes may be eligible under health spending/wellness accounts through extended health benefits as exercise classes but do not fall under physiotherapy coverage. Check with your insurance provider if you intend to submit for coverage.

Outdoor, walking-based, educational classes.
Bring your babe, meet other moms, and get some fresh air and exercise while learning about postpartum health and wellness! 

Young Moms

Classes Provide: 

  • greater access to accurate information and education ​on various postpartum health topics including pelvic floor, diastasis recti abdominis, breastfeeding, pain, nervous system changes, mental health considerations, and more. 

  • structured educational presentation in each session

  • an opportunity for participants to ask the Registered Physiotherapist questions while walking (due to the group nature of the class with no formal individual assessments, answers provided will be general and may not be applicable to each individual.)

  • social connection with other moms

  • an opportunity to get outside and move in a supportive and child friendly way (we fully anticipate interruptions! - snacks, diaper changes, and dropped shoes are all completely acceptable and expected!)

Who it's for:

  • This class is designed primarily for recently postpartum individuals (up to 1 year) but those at any stage postpartum are welcome to join

  • Classes are appropriate and relevant for those who delivered via vaginal birth or cesarean birth

  • Participants should be comfortable walking for up to 45 minutes. It is recommended to be 6+ weeks postpartum and be cleared by your doctor/midwife for regular physical activity prior to beginning classes.

$55 for full 6 week session

$15 per session as drop in if registration is not full

What to bring: 

Participants will need to bring their own: 

  • Strollers

  • Appropriate footwear

  • Water/snack as needed for self and child

  • Sun/weather protection for self and child

Please note: 

  1. If weather does not permit outdoor walking, an indoor setting will be utilized for education and social opportunities and the class will still be held in an alternate format. Refunds are not available for restructured/indoor classes or missed classes.
